A medieval Russian city that flourished from the 14th to 16th centuries. It is famous as the retreat of Sergius Radonezhsky, founder of the Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra, one of Russia's leading monasteries. Today, its ruins remain in the village of Gorodok, Moscow Oblast, Russian Federation. The town of Radonezh itself fell into decline after Sergius founded the aforementioned monastery near Radonezh around 1340. 14~16世紀に栄えたロシアの中世都市。
