A type of test paper used to detect oxidizing agents. The filter paper is soaked in a solution of 3 g of potassium iodide and 5 g of soluble starch dissolved in water to make 1 liter, and then dried. When wet, it reacts sharply with traces of oxidizing agents, turning blue. It is used to detect chlorine, ozone, hydrogen peroxide, etc., and as an external indicator for hypochlorite titration.
