〘noun〙① Coin of bad quality or with defects . Akuzeni . ⇔ Refined coin. ※Sandai Jitsuroku, June 10, 865 (7th year of the Jogan era), "Forbidden to traders in Kyoto and Omi Province, choose to throw away evil coins." ② Money obtained by dishonest means. Abukuzeni. ※Storybook and Kyoka-banashi (1672), 3 "Even if you think you are doing well now by receiving alms, it will be a terrible coin in the future." ③ Money used for trivial things. ※A person called Takezawa Sensei (1924-25)〈Nagayo Zenro〉Takezawa Sensei's Walk "The fate of the Sensei, who has to donate money to a place where it will disappear as worthless evil coin, is what he sees."
