Japanese: 薬剤学 - やくざいがく（英語表記）pharmacy; practical pharmacy

A branch of pharmacy. It is the study of creating the final formulation or dosage form of a drug when it is administered to the human body, and administering it to patients. In other words, it deals with the science and technology of drug formulation and dispensing, and is called pharmaceutical science when it focuses on creating medicines, and pharmacy science when it focuses on administering medicines. Pharmacy also includes drug management.

薬学の一分野。医薬品が人体に投与される場合の最終形態である製剤ないしは剤形をつくり，それを患者に投与するための学問である。すなわち製剤，調剤の学理と技術を対象としており，特に薬剤をつくることに重点をおく場合に製剤学，薬剤を投与することに重点をおく場合に調剤学という。薬剤学は薬品管理をも包含している。
