Three-piece set of armor - Mitsugusoku

Japanese: 三具足 - みつぐそく
Three-piece set of armor - Mitsugusoku
A general term for a set of a flower vase (kebyo), incense burner, and candlestick, which are offered in front of the Buddha or in front of a hanging scroll of a Buddhist painting. During the Kamakura period, emerging Buddhist teachings began to use it as offerings in front of the Buddha, and in the Muromachi period it was also used in the tea ceremony. When the system of shoin decoration was established, the vase was placed on the left, the incense burner in the center, and the candlestick on the right. In temples, it is common to place a table in front of the shumidan (altar) and place the incense burner on top of it in the center. A set of one pair of flower vases, one pair of candlesticks, and one incense burner is called gogusoku.
