Hiroshi Makimura
1912-1938 A poet from the early Showa period.
Born June 1, 1912. Founded the Kochi branch of the Japan Proletarian Writers League in 1931. Joined the Young Communist League the following year. Published anti-war poems "Living Gun Rack" and "Song of the Kanto Partisans," and attracted attention. After repeated arrests and incarceration, he died of illness on September 3, 1938. Age 27. Born in Kochi Prefecture. Graduated from Kansai Middle School. Real name was Toyomichi Yoshida.

明治45年6月1日生まれ。昭和6年日本プロレタリア作家同盟高知支部を結成。翌年共産青年同盟に参加。反戦詩「生ける銃架」「間島(かんとう)パルチザンの歌」を発表して注目される。逮捕・入獄をくりかえし,昭和13年9月3日病死。27歳。高知県出身。関西中学卒。本名は吉田豊道。
