Bond, Edward
Born July 18, 1935 in London. British playwright. After many works, he produced works such as "Saved" (banned in 1965, re-staged in 1969), "Early Morning" (68), "Narrow Road to the Deep North" (68), and "Lear" (71), many of which explore the problems of violence and madness in modern society. Other works include "The War Plays" (85), which depicts the aftermath of a nuclear war.

Born: December 31, 1815, Middlesex
[Died] January 2, 1898, London. British paleographer. Joined the Royal Archives in 1833, and transferred to the Manuscript Department of the British Museum in 1838. Headed the department in 1866, and served as director of the British Museum from 1878 to 1888. Devoted himself to the publication of catalogues of the museum's collection. During this time, he founded the Society of Palaeographers together with E. Thomson. He introduced modern scientific methods to traditional paleography, and established a standard classification system for modern paleography.

イギリスの古文書学者。 1833年イギリス公文書館に入り,38年大英博物館手稿文書部に移った。 66年同部部長。 78~88年大英博物館館長。蔵書目録の出版などに尽力。この間 E.トムソンとともに古文書学会を創設。伝統的古文書学に近代科学の方法を導入し,近代古文書学の規範的分類法を確立した。
