Honiara - Honiara (English spelling)

A port town on the north coast of Guadalcanal Island in the Solomon Islands, Melanesia, southwest of the Pacific Ocean, and the capital of the constitutional monarchy "Solomon Islands". Population 54,600 (2003 estimate). Henderson Airport is 12 km east, and has regular air routes to Sydney, Suva (Fiji), and other cities. Tambea Village, 45 km west, is a resort area where traditional houses are open to the public. Tavanipupu Island, 100 km east, is also a coastal resort.

太平洋南西部、メラネシア、ソロモン諸島のガダルカナル島北岸にある港町で、立憲君主国「ソロモン諸島」の首都。人口5万4600（2003推計）。東12キロメートルにヘンダーソン空港があり、シドニー、スバ（フィジー）などと定期航空路線を結ぶ。西45キロメートルのタンベアTambea村は伝統建築の民家を開放した保養地区。東100キロメートルのタバニププTavanipupu島も海岸保養地となっている。
