A humorous book author from the late Edo period. Dates of birth and death unknown. His real surname was Kono. He was a samurai of Takasaki Domain in Kozuke Province and lived in Fukagawa, Edo. After "Oyster Shells of Miji" in 1779 (An'ei 8), he had a strong attachment to the pleasure quarters of Fukagawa, and wrote works such as "Tsūjin Makura Kotoba" (1781) and "A View of Fukagawa" (1782), which explore its customs and portray the spiritedness of Fukagawa women. He was also friends with kyoka poets such as Ota Nanpo, who went by the mad pseudonym "O no Noroma Kanenashi," and their friendship is described in "Gunin Otoko Tsutsukarigane" (1783). 江戸後期の洒落本作者。生没年不詳。本姓河野氏。上州高崎藩士で江戸深川に住む。1779年(安永8)《美地の蠣殻(かきから)》以後,《通仁枕言葉(つうじんまくらことば)》(1781),《富賀川(ふかがわ)拝見》(1782)など,深川の遊里に強い愛着を持ち,その風俗をうがち,深川女の意気地を描く。また大の鈍金無(のろまかねなし)の狂号で大田南畝ら狂歌師と親交があり,その交遊のさまが《愚人贅漢居続借金(ぐにんおとこいつつかりがね)》(1783)に描かれている。
