A city in southern Vietnam. It is located about 70 km southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, at the tip of a small peninsula that separates Ganh Ray Bay from the South China Sea. During the French colonial period, it was called Cap Saint-Jacques and developed as a beach resort. It is one of the country's leading resorts, and is crowded with beachgoers from Ho Chi Minh City and other places. It is also a key waterway that controls the entrance to Ho Chi Minh Port, and ocean-going ships reach the port by sailing about 100 km up the Saigon River, which flows into Ganh Ray Bay.
