Principia Mathematica

Co-authored by A.N. Whitehead and BAW Russell. 3 volumes. Published 1910-13. Also translated as "Principles of Mathematics". This is an actual implementation of the logicist position in the foundations of mathematics, which states that natural numbers (cardinal numbers) are defined by sets, and based on this, all mathematical (analytic) propositions are stated in the language of logic and are derived from the principles of logic. The logic referred to here is mathematical logic (symbolic logic), and this book was the first to conveniently symbolize this logic, and although it has its flaws, it has been almost completely systematized.

A.N.ホワイトヘッドとB.A.W.ラッセルの共著。3巻。1910‐13年刊行。《数学原理》とも訳される。自然数(基数)は集合によって定義され，これをもとにいっさいの数学(解析学)的命題は論理学のことばで述べられ，論理学の原理から導き出されるという，数学基礎論における論理主義の立場を実際に行ってみたもの。ここでいう論理学は数理論理学(記号論理学)で，この論理学もこの本で初めて便利に記号化され，欠点はあるがほぼ完全に体系化された。
