Bakashi

A Chinese painter from the early Southern Song Dynasty. Dates of birth and death unknown. A Jinshi (official scholar) from the Shaoxing period (1131-1162). He painted people, landscapes, and Buddhist statues, and while he belonged to the Northern School of painting, he also adopted the techniques of the Southern School of painting, establishing his own unique style. 中国，南宋初期の画家。生没年不詳。紹興年間（1131年―1162年）の進士。人物，山水，仏像を描き，北宗画に属しながら南宗画の技法も採り入れ，独自の画風を樹立。高宗の書写した《毛詩》の余白に図を描いたという。
