This is the site of a Buddhist temple in the center of Angkor Thom, Cambodia. It was built in the early 13th century by Jayavarman VII (reigned 1181-1220) to commemorate a military victory and to worship the souls of those who died in battle. It is surrounded by a corridor measuring 160m from east to west and 140m from north to south, and contains the main hall with a complex floor plan. The building is famous for the large faces of the towers on its rooftop, known as human-faced towers. These four towers represent statues of Kannon. The exterior walls of the building are carved in relief to depict the daily life of the people at the time and historical events. It is one of the representative buildings of Angkor art.
