Rakugo. When a yakuza (hokan) (man) gets drunk and messes with his master, he is in trouble and is recommended by a friend to buy a fortune charm called Pine 110th number. He places it inside the Great Shrine in the Shinto altar, prays for a win, drinks sake and goes to sleep. In the middle of the night, a fire breaks out near his master's house, and Kyuzo rushes over and is allowed to enter and leave. Luckily, the master's house was not burned, so he is treated to some sake and stays there, but then Kyuzo's house catches fire. He rushes back, but the house has already burned down. Later, Kyuzo passes in front of the Hachiman (sacred statue of Hachiman) and draws a fortune charm, and the Pine 110th number wins 1,000 ryo. Kyuzo is happy, but is told not to burn the charm and is disappointed. On his way home, the head of the neighborhood tells him, "I took the Great Shrine while you were out," and when he goes to check, the fortune charm is safe and sound. "This is all thanks to the great shrine. I will purify the neighborhood." This story is said to have been adapted from a true story by San'yutei Encho, and has been performed by many storytellers. In recent years, it has been a signature piece of the Bunraku puppet theatre company Katsura 8th.

落語。幇間(ほうかん)の久蔵が酒のうえで旦那(だんな)をしくじり、困っているときに友人に勧められて松の百十番という富札(とみふだ)を買う。これを神棚の大神宮様の中へ入れ、当たるように拝んで酒を飲んで寝てしまう。夜中に旦那の家の近くで火事があり、久蔵はすぐに駆けつけて出入りを許される。さいわい旦那の家は焼けなかったので、酒を御馳走(ごちそう)になって泊まっていると、今度は久蔵の家のほうが火事。急いで帰ったが家は焼けてしまっていた。その後、久蔵が八幡(はちまん)様の前を通ると富籤(とみくじ)を突いていて、松の百十番が千両当たりとなる。久蔵は喜んだが、札を焼いてはだめといわれて落胆して帰る途中に、町内の頭(かしら)に「お前の留守に大神宮様を持ち出しといた」といわれ、行ってみると富札は無事にあった。「これも大神宮様のおかげ。ご近所のお払い（お祓(はら)い）をいたします」。この咄(はなし)は三遊亭円朝(えんちょう)が実話を落語化したものと伝え、多くの噺家(はなしか)が口演、近年では8代桂(かつら)文楽の十八番であった。
