Tomioka
The former town area of ​​northwest Reihoku Town in southwest Kumamoto Prefecture. It is located at the northwestern tip of Shimoshima Island in the Amakusa Islands. It was incorporated as a town in 1889. In 1955 it was merged with Shiki Village and Sakasegawa Village to form Reihoku Town. Tomioka Port, a natural harbor surrounded by the Tomoezaki lagoon, has a regular shipping route between it and Mogi in Nagasaki Prefecture, and is also a shipping port for Amakusa pottery stone and a fishing port. There are the ruins of Tomioka Castle and the Tomioka Kirishitan Memorial Monument (a nationally designated historic site). The area is part of Unzen-Amakusa National Park, and the surrounding sea area is designated as the Tomioka Marine Park District.

Tomioka

Located in the eastern part of Tokushima Prefecture, this is the central downtown area of ​​Anan City, along with the Tachibana district. It is on the south bank of the Naka River. In the early days of the feudal government, it began as a small castle town around Ushiki Castle (Tomioka Castle), one of the nine Awa castles, and developed as a strategic location to the south. It was also important as a distribution center for rafts that floated down the Naka River. The ruins of Tomioka Castle have been developed into Shiroyama Park.

徳島県東部,橘地区と並ぶ阿南市の中心市街地。那賀川の南岸にある。藩政初期に阿波九城の一つ牛岐 (うしき) 城 (富岡城) の小城下町として起り,南への要地として発達した。また,那賀川を流下する筏 (いかだ) の集散地としても重要であった。富岡城跡は,城山公園として整備されている。
