A Korean history book. 56 volumes, 1 volume of the external chronicles. It was started during the reign of King Sejo of the Joseon Dynasty (Yi Dynasty) and completed in the 15th year of the reign of King Seongjong (1484). Written by Seo Geojeong and others, it describes the history of ancient Korea from the end of the Goryeo Dynasty in chronological order. The first volume, the external chronicles, covers the Three Kingdoms period to the end of the Goryeo Dynasty. The main chronicles cover the period from the Three Kingdoms period to the end of the Goryeo Dynasty, but there are many citations from other books and errors, making it unreliable. However, this book was written from a Confucian perspective, and because it is systematic and convenient, it became one of the basic historical books during the Joseon Dynasty, and was brought to Japan in the early Edo period and was highly valued until the Meiji period.

朝鮮の史書。 56巻，外紀1巻。朝鮮王朝 (李朝) の世祖のとき着手し，成宗 15 (1484) 年に完成した。徐居正らの撰で，古朝鮮から高麗末までの歴史を編年体で叙述したもの。巻首外紀は三韓まで。本紀は三国時代から高麗時代末までを記しているが，他書の引用や誤りが多く信憑性が薄い。しかし本書は朱子学的な立場で叙述され，体系的で便利なところから朝鮮王朝時代に基本的史書の一つとなり，日本でも江戸時代初期にもたらされ，明治まで重んじられた。
