Also called radio spurs. A part of the galactic radio waves in the Milky Way Galaxy that extends like a ridge perpendicular to the galactic plane. It appears because the radio emission area along the spiral arms is seen tangentially from the Sun. There are also spurs called radio loops that draw large arcs.
