Decalin

Decahydronaphthalene. C ₁₀ H ₁₈ (138.24). A bicyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon. Cis and trans isomers are known. Hydrogenation of naphthalene over a platinum catalyst under high pressure produces a mixture of both isomers, which are separated by rectification. trans -Decalin has a melting point of -33 °C and a boiling point of 185 °C. Eqs. 0.870 and 1.4811. cis -Decalin has a melting point of -45 °C and a boiling point of 194 °C. Eqs. 0.896 and 1.4691. Decahydronaphthalene is distinguished by whether the H atom at the ring condensation position is trans or cis. The trans form cannot be inverted, but the cis form can. The cis form is less stable than the trans form, and isomerizes to the trans form when heated with aluminum chloride. Used as a solvent and lubricant. Commercially available products are a mixture of cis and cis forms. [CAS 91-17-8]

decahydronaphthalene．C₁₀H₁₈(138.24)．二環性の脂肪族炭化水素．シスおよびトランスの異性体が知られている．高圧下に白金触媒を用いてナフタレンを水素添加すると両異性体の混合物が得られ，精密蒸留によって分離される．trans-デカリンは融点－33 ℃，沸点185 ℃．0.870．1.4811．cis-デカリンは融点－45 ℃，沸点194 ℃．0.896．1.4691．環縮合位置のH原子がトランスかシスかによって区別され，トランス形のものは環の反転ができないが，シス形は反転が可能である．シス形はトランス形よりも不安定で，塩化アルミニウムと加熱するとトランス形に異性化する．溶剤や潤滑油に用いられる．市販品はシスおよびトランスの混合物である．[CAS 91-17-8]
