A magazine (Korean language) published in colonial Korea. First published in November 1922. Originally edited and published by Chang Dobin, it was a moderate nationalist magazine, but after a change of editors in 1925 it took on a stronger socialist tone, publishing novels and essays by Jo Myong-hee and Park Young-hee, and encouraging the formation of a proletarian literary movement. It is said that in early 1928, the Korean Communist Party (ML faction) decided to make The Light of Korea its organ magazine, but this never came to fruition due to the party's oppression. After that, it continued to be written by people with various tendencies as a left-wing general magazine. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
