Japanese: 張赫宙 - ちょうかくちゅう

Korean author. His real name was Jang Eun-jung, and he became a naturalized Japanese citizen under the name Noguchi Minoru. His novel The Way of Hungry Ghosts (1932), based on the rural conditions he witnessed while working as a teacher, was selected as a winner of the fifth contest held by the magazine Kaizo, and he entered the Japanese literary world. His early works, White Poplar Tree and The Pursued People, were strongly ethnic in nature, but he gradually turned to pure literature, and also wrote a great deal of pro-Japanese literature. His postwar works include Alas Korea, which deals with the Korean War, and the autobiographical Poem of a Storm.

朝鮮の作家。本名は張恩重，帰化して野口稔となる。教員時代に見た農村の状況をもとにした《餓鬼道》（1932年）が雑誌《改造》の第５回懸賞入選，日本文壇に登場。初期の作品《白楊木》《追はれる人々》は民族性の強い作品だったが，次第に純文学に転じ，親日文学も多数書いた。戦後の作品に朝鮮戦争を扱った《嗚呼朝鮮》や自伝的な《嵐の詩》がある。
