The third king of the Pagan dynasty in Myanmar. Reigned 1084-1113. His name appears on inscriptions as Teering Myint. His Sanskrit title is Sri Tribhuwana Aditya Dhamma Raja (Auspicious Three Realms Sun King). Kyansittha's name suggests that he was of non-royal origin, with "Chan" meaning "official" and "Sittha" meaning "soldier," originating from the Burmese word karang from the Pagan period. After Anawrahta's death, Sorlu, who succeeded him to the throne, was killed in a Mon rebellion, and Kyansittha was nominated to take the throne to settle the unstable country.

ミャンマーのパガン朝第3代の国王。在位1084‐1113年。碑文に現れる名前はティーラインミン。サンスクリットの称号はシュリ･トリブワナ･アディトヤ･ダンマ･ラージャ(吉祥三界太陽法王)。チャンシッターの名は，〈チャン〉がパガン時代のビルマ語カランを語源として〈官吏〉を意味し，〈シッター〉が〈兵士〉の意味で，その出自が非王族であることを示唆している。アノーヤターの死後王位を継承したソールーがモン族の反乱で殺された後，不安定となった国内を収拾するため推戴されて王位に就いた。
