Akakura [Hot Springs] - Akakura

Japanese: 赤倉[温泉] - あかくら

It is located in Myoko-Kogen Town (now Myoko City), Nakakubiki County, Niigata Prefecture, on the eastern foot of Mt. Myoko, on a plateau at an altitude of 758m. The spring contains sodium bicarbonate and is 56°C. At first, it was a sacred place for ascetic practices, and bathers were not allowed to enter the spring, but in 1814 the Takada Domain started to operate it, and it was later handed over to the private sector. It is famous as a highland summer resort and ski resort. There is a bus service from Myoko-Kogen Station on the Echigo Tokimeki Railway.

新潟県中頸城(なかくびき)郡妙高高原町（現・妙高市）に属し，妙高山東麓，標高758mの高原上にある。含ボウ硝重炭酸土類泉。56℃。当初，修験の霊場として入湯は許されなかったが，1814年ころ高田藩により経営が始められ，のち民間に渡された。高原避暑地，スキー場として有名。えちごトキめき鉄道妙高高原駅からバスが通じる。
