Japanese: 田螺金魚 - たにし・きんぎょ

Years of birth: unknown. A comic writer from the mid-Edo period. Other pen names include Tanisui Kingyo and Chanishi Kingyo. A doctor who lived in Shirakabe-cho, Kanda, Edo, there is a theory that his real name was Suzuki Ian, but this is unknown. His works were published in the four years from 1777 to 1780, and he produced six sharebon works, of which "Keijo-kai Tora no Maki" published in 1770 was a highly unusual hit for a sharebon of the time, based on popular rumors of the time and featuring love stories with theatrical ideas and writing. 生年：生没年不詳
江戸中期の戯作者。別号に田水金魚,茶にし金魚がある。江戸神田白壁町住の医者で本名を鈴木位庵とする説があるが未詳。安永6～9(1777～80)の4年間にその作品の刊行が行われ,洒落本の作ばかり6点を数えるが,なかでも同7年刊の『契情買虎之巻』は当時の巷説に取材して,恋愛描写を主とし,演劇的な趣向や文章でまとめた,当時の洒落本としては極めて異色の当たり作であり,書型も中本型を用いて,寛政(1789～1801)以降に洒落本が人情本化するに際しては,その先駆的作品として尊重されている。<参考文献>鵜月洋「田にし金魚の研究」(『国文学研究』15号)
