Japanese: 橘瑞超 - たちばなずいちょう

A Shinshu Buddhist monk and explorer. He participated in the second Otani expedition in 1908, and after passing through Turfan and other places, explored Loulan on his own. He then met A. Stein in London and Hedin in Stockholm, and then explored Central Asia again. He went missing for a time, but met the third Otani expedition in Dunhuang in 1912. He later obtained many Buddhist scriptures written in Uighur characters, as well as the "Li Bo Documents" dated May 7, 328, which is said to be a draft of a letter from Li Bo, a Western Regions official in Former Liang. His books include "New Records of the Western Regions."

真宗の僧，探検家。1908年の第２次大谷探検隊に参加し，トゥルファン（吐魯番）などを経て単独で楼蘭（ローラン）を探検。その後ロンドンでA.スタイン，ストックホルムでヘディンに会ったのち，再び中央アジアを探検。一時行方不明となったが，1912年第３次大谷探検隊と敦煌(とんこう)で邂逅した。ウイグル文字で記された仏典多数と，前涼の西域長吏李柏の手紙の草稿とされる永元18年（328年）５月７日の日付のある《李柏文書》を得て将来した。著書《新西域記》等。
