Takemoto Tsunatayu
A tayu of Gidayubushi. There were eight generations. (1) The first (?-1776 (An'ei 5)) A disciple of the second Takemoto Masatayu. After he retired from the Takemoto-za, he adapted and performed domestic plays. (2) The second (?-1805 (Bunka 2)) Formerly known as the 4th Takemoto Mondayu. In 1782 (Tenmei 2), he succeeded the name to the second. He adapted eastern style plays such as "Goppo" to western style plays and revived them. The so-called Tsunadayu style is thought to have been established by the third tayu, centering on the second tayu. (3) The third - Years of birth and death unknown. He was active from the late 18th century to the early 19th century.

義太夫節の太夫。8世まである。(1)初世(?‐1776(安永5)) 2世竹本政太夫門弟。竹本座退転後,世話物の改作上演を手がけた。(2)2世(?‐1805(文化2)) 前名4世竹本紋太夫。1782年(天明2)2世襲名。《合邦》など東風系統の曲を西風に改曲して復活上演を行った。いわゆる綱太夫風は,この2世を中心にして,3世までで確立したものと考えられる。(3)3世 生没年不詳。18世紀末期から19世紀初期に活躍した。
