Born September 19, 1880 in Himi, Toyama [Died] February 26, 1954. Commercial law scholar, Kitashirakawa, Kyoto. Graduated from Kyoto University Law School in 1906, and became a professor there in 1915. Doctor of Law in 1917. Dean of Kyoto University Law School from 1923 to 1925. Retired from the government and opened a practice of law in 1957. Professor Emeritus at Kyoto University in the same year. Founded the Civil and Commercial Law Journal with Suekawa Hiroshi as co-editor. Chairman of the Osaka Bar Association from 1943 to 1944. Member of the Japan Academy in 1947. His works include General Commercial Law (1912), Criticism of Commercial Law Cases (25), Essentials of Commercial Law (26), Summary of Bill Law (27), Commercial Acts Law (31), General Provisions of Commercial Law (32), Bill Law and Cheque Law (55), and Theory and Interpretation of Commercial Law (59).
