A town in Kuji District, northern Ibaraki Prefecture. Occupying the Okukuji region upstream of the Kuji River, the town is served by the Suigun Line and National Route 118. The town produces rice, apples, konjac, and tea, and also raises livestock. The beauty of the Kuji River valley is one of Okukuji's tourist attractions.
