Zhejiang Province - Gypsum
A province in southeastern China, on the East China Sea coast. Its abbreviated name is Zhejiang. Its capital is Hangzhou. The coastline south of Hangzhou Bay is particularly winding, with many large and small islands and an abundance of good natural harbors. The northern part is a plain, while the southern part is hilly. The climate is warm and rainy, and the land is fertile. In addition to rice, wheat, tea, cotton, hemp, silk thread, and fruit, the province produces fish, salt, timber, tung oil, lacquer, and medicinal materials. Traditional industries include Shaoxing wine, textiles, umbrellas, woodenware, sen and roof tiles, as well as modern industries such as silk reeling, weaving, papermaking, steel, electricity, chemicals, and machinery. Transportation is convenient both on land and sea, and many road and canal networks have been developed around the three railway lines centered on Hangzhou: Shanghai (Shanghai-Hangzhou), Zhejiang (Hangzhou-Zhuzhou), and Hangning (Hangzhou-Ningbo). 101,800km2 . 47.99 million people (2014).
