An Indonesian vertical flute with a ring at the mouthpiece. Made of bamboo. Has 4 to 6 finger holes on the front. The upper end of the tube is closed by a bamboo node, and a duct is formed between a notch made in the node and a thin piece of bamboo wrapped around it. Exhaled air passes through the duct and hits a square mouthpiece on the side wall just below the node, producing sound. It is characterized by circular breathing, which allows for continuous sound production without interruption. It is used to accompany gamelan, singing, and storytelling.

インドネシアの吹口に輪のついた縦笛。竹製。前面に指孔４〜６。管の上端は竹の節で閉じており，そこに入れられた切り込みと，まわりに巻かれた竹の薄片の間にダクトが形成される。呼気はダクトを通って，節の少し下の側壁にあけられている四角い歌口にあたり発音する。循環呼吸で切れ目なく音を出し続けるのが特徴。ガムラン，歌や語りの伴奏に用いられる。
