Sugorokudake - Only Sugoroku

A mountain located in the center of the Northern Alps, on the border between Nagano and Gifu prefectures. It is 2,860 meters above sea level. The geology of the area is plutonic rock, mainly quartz diorite. The summit is a gentle grassland, where in addition to dwarf pine and rowan, highland plants such as gentian, vermicelli, and alpine buttercup bloom in summer, and a cirque formed by glaciated landforms can be seen on the south side of the summit. In the saddle with Momizawadake in the southeast, there is Sugoroku Pond and Sugoroku Hut. It is on the traverse route of the Ura Ginza Course, which runs from Mt. Yari to Mt. Momizawa, Mt. Sugoroku, and Mt. Mitsumatarenge in the north, and it takes four and a half hours from Mt. Yari to reach this course. The shortest route directly to Mt. Sugoroku is from Shinhotaka Onsen, passing through Wasabi-daira, Kagami-daira, and Sugoroku-koya hut, and takes about eight hours.

北アルプスの中央部、長野・岐阜県境にある山。標高2860メートル。一帯の地質は石英閃緑(せんりょく)岩を主とする深成岩である。山頂はなだらかな草地をなし、ハイマツやナナカマドのほか、夏にはリンドウ、コバイケイソウ、シナノキンバイなどの高原植物が咲き、山頂の南側には氷食地形のカールがみられる。南東部の樅沢(もみさわ)岳との鞍部(あんぶ)には双六池と双六小屋があり、槍ヶ岳(やりがたけ)から樅沢岳、双六岳を経て北部の三俣蓮華(みつまたれんげ)岳へ至る裏銀座コースの縦走路にあたり、槍ヶ岳からは4時間半の行程である。なお、双六岳に直接登る最短ルートは新穂高温泉から、わさび平、鏡平、双六小屋を経由するルートで約8時間の行程を要する。
