A term used in Japanese music. It is used in various ways in several genres. It can also be written as sugagaki or seisugaki. First, in gagaku, the basic technique of the wagon (Japanese harp) is called sugagaki. It is a technique in which all six strings are plucked at once using the kotosaki (harp strike). There are two types: junsuga, which is played from the back to the front, and gyakusuga, which is plucked from the front to the back. The musical form of the wagon that is repeatedly played in Mikagura is also called sugagaki. There is also a technique of the same name in the koto of Togaku. However, there are those who consider it to be a joint term for shizugaki and hayagaki, and those who refer to a specific technique played at the tomede.
