A kana zoshi (traditional Japanese story). The author is unknown. It was published in 1635 (Kan'ei 12). The house of two nuns begins to host bathing services for visitors to Zenkoji Temple in Nagano. Five more nuns join them and each of them begins to confess their life stories. At the end, a nun who is said to have been the daughter of Kazan-in criticizes each of the stories and leaves, and the story is influenced by the Otogi zoshi (traditional Japanese story), Sanninboshi (The Three Priests). Although it is a novel promoting Buddhism, it also gave rise to subsequent works, Ninin Bikuni (Two Bikuni) and Yonin Bikuni (Four Bikuni).
