Sanryoushi

A survey of the imperial tombs written by Gamo Kunpei. Influenced by Mitogaku, Kunpei lamented the deterioration of the imperial tombs and surveyed the mountain tombs throughout the Kinki region. He compiled the results in two volumes in 1801 (Kyowa 1) (published in 1808). He provides historical evidence for all 92 tombs in areas such as Yamato, Kawachi, Izumi, and Yamashiro, and advocates the restoration and reverence of the imperial tombs. It is of archaeological significance, but it also had a major impact on the pro-imperial theory of the late Edo period, and can be considered one of the pioneering works of pro-imperial thought. It is included in the 5th volume of the Imperial Studies Collection, the 3rd volume of the Kinno Bunko, and the 5th volume of the Complete Works of Gamo Kunpei.

蒲生君平(がもうくんぺい)の著した各天皇陵についての調査書。水戸学の影響を受けた君平が天皇陵の荒廃を嘆き、近畿一帯の山陵を実地に踏査、1801年（享和1）全2巻にまとめた（出版は08年）。大和(やまと)、河内(かわち)、和泉(いずみ)、山城(やましろ)などの地域の全92陵について考証を付し、天皇陵の復興と尊崇を説いている。考古学的意義もあるが、幕末の尊王論に影響を与えた点が大きく、尊王思想の先駆的な著作の一つといえる。『皇学叢書(そうしょ)』第5巻、『蒲生君平全集』、『勤王文庫』第3巻に所収。
