Sakunami [Hot Spring] - Sakunami

Japanese: 作並[温泉] - さくなみ

A hot spring that wells up in the riverbed of the Hirose River in the western part of Aoba Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. Alkaline saline spring. 43-57℃. Apparently it was developed as a hot spring resort at the end of the 18th century, and it seems to have developed due to its proximity to Sendai Castle. It is located along Sakunami Kaido (National Route 48) that connects Sendai and Tendo, and there are buses from both stations, as well as from Sakunami Station on the Senzan Line.

宮城県仙台市青葉区西部，広瀬川の河床にわく温泉。アルカリ性食塩泉。43〜57℃。18世紀末に湯治場として整備されたらしく，仙台城下に近いこともあって発展したようである。仙台，天童を結ぶ作並街道（国道48号）に沿い，両駅からバスがあり，仙山線作並駅からもバスが通じる。
