This is an element used in electromagnetic wave lines such as microwaves and millimeter waves, and has terminal pairs that connect three or more lines. Electromagnetic waves that are input sequentially are output from the next terminal pair, and since there is no flow in the opposite direction, it is called a nonreciprocal element. This property is used in various microwave application fields such as microwave communications and radar to separate the waves entering and leaving equipment. マイクロ波やミリ波などの電磁波の線路に使われる素子で，３個以上の線路を接続する端子対をもつ。順次入力された電磁波はその一つ隣の端子対から出力され，逆方向の流れがないので非相反素子と呼ばれる。この性質を利用してマイクロ波通信，レーダーなど各種のマイクロ波応用分野で，機器に入ってくる波と出ていく波の分離などを行う。
