Respiratory division

Japanese: 呼吸器科 - こきゅうきか(英語表記)pulmonary division
Respiratory division
A specialized medical department within internal medicine that deals with respiratory diseases. This includes a variety of diseases of the trachea, bronchi, lungs, and pleura. In addition to patients who have already been diagnosed, those who visit the department include those with symptoms such as cough, phlegm, bloody phlegm, hemoptysis, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and chest pain, as well as those who have been diagnosed with abnormal shadows on chest X-rays during health checkups. Diseases of the throat (pharynx and larynx) are treated by otorhinolaryngology. Chest pain can also be caused by diseases of the heart or chest wall (intercostal neuralgia, rib fractures, etc.), which fall under the fields of cardiology and orthopedics, respectively.
