The Ancient and Modern History of the Confucius - Kokoninkaikyoyo (English)

Japanese: 古今韻会挙要 - ここんいんかいきょよう（英語表記）Gǔ jīn yùn huì jǔ yào

This is a rhyming book that Xiong Zhong simplified because the Gujin Yun Hui, compiled by Huang Gongshao of the Yuan Dynasty in China, was deemed too voluminous. It has 30 volumes and was completed in 1297 (the first year of the reign of Datoku). The rhymes are based on Liu Yuan's Jinzi Xinhan Ritual Book Rhymes, which includes common rhymes, making a total of 107 rhymes, but the characters in each rhyme are arranged from 36 letters. While based on the traditional framework of rhyming books, it also incorporates rhyming innovations that reflect changes in pronunciation over time, making it an important resource for phonetic research between the Song and Yuan dynasties.
