Christmas season

Japanese: 降誕節 - こうたんせつ(英語表記)Christmas season
Christmas season
One of the liturgical seasons in the Christian church calendar. It refers to the season that celebrates Christmas and Epiphany, leading up to the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. The first half refers to the eight-day grand celebration of the Lord's birth until the day before Epiphany, and the second half refers to the period from Epiphany to the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. The Bible readings during this season focus on events that occurred before Christ's public life, as recorded in the first Gospels. [Tsuchiya Yoshimasa]
