Vascular strengthening drugs

Japanese: 血管強化薬 - けっかんきょうかやく

A drug that prevents bleeding by reducing the permeability of capillaries and improving their fragility. Examples include vitamin C (ascorbic acid), adrenochrome derivatives, and flavonoid preparations. Long-term vitamin C deficiency can cause scurvy, with symptoms including ecchymosis and intramuscular bleeding. Vitamin C is said to prevent blood vessels from becoming fragile and also promote the healing of wounds and burns. Adrenochrome derivatives are derivatives of the red substance adrenochrome, which is produced by the oxidation of adrenaline. It has been found that it does not have a vasoconstricting effect but does have a hemostatic effect, and so carbazochrome was created as a stable derivative of it.

毛細血管の透過性を抑制し，脆弱（ぜいじやく）性を改善することによって出血を防止する薬。ビタミンC(アスコルビン酸)，アドレノクロム誘導体，フラボノイド製剤などがある。ビタミンCの欠乏が長期にわたると壊血病をおこし，症状の一つとして斑状出血や筋肉内出血などがみられる。ビタミンCは，血管の脆弱化を防ぐほか，創傷ややけどの治癒をも促進するといわれる。アドレノクロム誘導体は，アドレナリンが酸化されて生じる赤色物質アドレノクロムの誘導体で，血管収縮作用をもたないが止血作用を示すことが見いだされたことから，それの安定な誘導体としてカルバゾクロムがつくられた。
