〘noun〙① Paper used by sumo wrestlers to wipe and purify themselves in sumo. In the past, when there were four pillars, it was hung from the pillars of the ring. Chikaragami . *Joruri, Natsumatsuri Naniwa Kagami (1745), vol. 2 "Even if you win a bout on the battlefield, it is a sumo move. <omitted> A gift of three strands of damask cosmetic paper (keshaugami) given to you at your kind request." ② Soft paper used to remove streaks in face powder when putting on makeup. ③ Paper with pictures or patterns printed on it that is wrapped around the sides of cans such as canned food. *Fuzoku Gaho - Issue 134 (1897), Jinjimon "Paper with various designs painted on it using slate is pasted onto the body of the can. This is called cosmetic paper."
