An Iranian female poet and Bábí. Born into a distinguished family in Qazvin, she resonated with the teachings of the Báb and, as an ardent follower, worked to promote the movement, and is said to be the first Iranian woman to advocate women's liberation. She was executed in 1852 during the Qajar government's major crackdown on Bábís. She was also famous as a poet, and was highly praised for her religious poems about the Bábí sect, poems dealing with social issues, and lyric poems. [Kuroyanagi Tsuneo]

イランの女流詩人，バーブ教徒。カズビーンの名家に生まれ，バーブの教えに共鳴し，熱烈な教徒として運動の推進に努め，女性解放を唱えた最初のイラン女性ともいわれる。1852年カージャール朝政府のバーブ教徒大弾圧に際して処刑された。詩人としても名高く，バーブ教に関する宗教詩や社会問題を扱った詩，抒情詩などをつくり高く評価された。【黒柳恒男】
