1817‐52 An Iranian female poet and Bábí. Born into a distinguished family in Qazvin, she resonated with the teachings of the Báb and, as an ardent follower, worked to promote the movement, and is said to be the first Iranian woman to advocate women's liberation. She was executed in 1852 during the Qajar government's major crackdown on Bábís. She was also famous as a poet, and was highly praised for her religious poems about the Bábí sect, poems dealing with social issues, and lyric poems.
