Kimita [village] - Kimita

Japanese: 君田[村] - きみた

A village in Futami County in northern Hiroshima Prefecture. Population 2,063 (1995). Located on the southern side of the Chugoku Mountains, it is surrounded by steep mountainous terrain at altitudes of 500 to 1,000 meters. The Kannose River, a tributary of the Eno River, cuts a deep valley through the center of the town and flows south. Cultivated land is distributed along the Kannose River in small areas, and rice cultivation, livestock farming mainly for beef cattle, and forestry are carried out. The valley bottom plain is somewhat wide in the southern part, and Higashiiri-kun in the center is located on a terrace of the Kannose River. Kannose Gorge, from Kannose Power Station to Takagure Dam, is known for the beauty of the valley with its fresh greenery and autumn leaves.

広島県北部，双三（ふたみ）郡の村。人口2063(1995)。中国山地南側に位置し，周囲は標高500～1000mの急峻な山地で，町の中央を江の川支流の神野瀬川が深い谷を刻んで南流する。耕地は神野瀬川に沿ってわずかに分布し，米作，肉用牛中心の畜産，林業が行われている。南部は谷底平野がやや広く，中心地の東入君は神野瀬川の段丘上にある。神ノ瀬発電所から高暮ダムまでの神野瀬峡は，新緑，紅葉の渓谷美で知られる。
