Kushinaara - Kushinaara

…an ancient tribe in northern India. Around the 6th century BCE, the Malla state was one of the "Sixteen Great States," but during the reign of Buddha it was divided into two factions, with their capitals in Pāvā and Kusinārā (Kushinagara), respectively. Both of these states adopted a tribal republic (sangha) system, holding meetings in public halls to decide important issues.
