Wood lice - Psyllidae

Japanese: キジラミ(木虱) - キジラミ
Wood lice - Psyllidae
A general term for insects in the Hemiptera family, Psyllidae. Many species are tiny, measuring 3-6 mm in length, and resemble cicadas at first glance, but have simple wing veins. There are many species throughout the world. The larvae inhabit the undersides of leaves and stems of various plants in colonies, and many species secrete white wax. They suck plant sap, transmit diseases, and sometimes create galls, making them agricultural pests. Examples include the pear psyllid, mulberry psyllid, and black apple psyllid.
