...Industrialization is the most advanced in El Salvador. From Nicaragua

The name Nicaragua is said to have been taken from one of their chiefs, Nicarao. The Spanish colonized Nicaragua, centering on Leon (established in 1522), and in 1570 integrated Nicaragua into the Viceroyalty of Guatemala. During the colonial period, it became a producer of agricultural products.
