King George [Island] - King George

...It has an area of ​​about 4,700 km2. It is located between the Bransfield Strait and the Drake Passage, at about 62° south latitude and 60° west longitude, and 11 islands spread from east to west, centered on King George Island and Livingston Island. It is uninhabited because it is covered with ice and snow all year round, but from 1906 to 1931 it was a base for whaling and sealing.
