Japanese: 漁業練習船 - ぎょぎょうれんしゅうせん

...Vessels range from 2,500 tons to several tons, but the type of vessel is not uniform. Fishery training vessels are vessels used for practical training in navigation, fishing, and marine research at universities and fisheries high schools, which are educational institutions related to fisheries. The vessel types are based on stern trawlers and tuna long liners, but are multipurpose vessels for carrying out various types of fishing training.

From the Training Ship

...a ship used for on-board training for the purpose of training ship crew members. There are civilian navigation training ships, fishery training ships, and military training ships. In Japan, navigation training ships for training merchant mariners belong to the Ministry of Transport's Maritime Training Institute, and are used to train students in navigation and engineering at maritime universities and maritime high schools in navigation and maneuvering.
