Chelicerae (horseshoe crab)

…there is a mouth in the center of the ventral surface, surrounded by seven pairs of legs. The first pair of legs is in front of the mouth and is called the chelicerae. The next five legs are walking legs, the terminal segments of which form scissors, but the base of the legs has a chewing surface that also serves as the mouthparts.
