Firm's production factor demand function

...To obtain the maximum profit possible, the ratio of production factors to be used must be selected according to the high or low price of the production factors, and production/sales volume must be adjusted according to the high or low price of the product. The relationship between the price of the product and its sales volume is the company's product supply function, and the relationship between the price of a production factor and the purchase volume is the company's production factor demand function. (In addition to the production factors owned by households, there are also production factors that are bought and sold between companies, i.e. intermediate products, but we will ignore these here to simplify the explanation.)
