...This life cycle is probably due to adaptation to temperate climates. In addition, the yellow-banded skipper moth H. puera , which occasionally visits Japan, is widely distributed in the tropical regions around the equator and is considered a pest of teak trees (Verbenaceae) in Asia. This family was once considered part of the noctuid moths, but is now generally treated as an independent family.
